Every year, we look forward to attending the Outdoor Retailer show. This industry-only trade show blends the best elements of REI, Cabela's, Bass Pro Shops, and every other big-box outdoor gear store you've ever been in. The 2017 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market (ORSM) is being held in the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, from today (July 26th) through this Saturday (July 29th).
The OR Show's massive expanse of booths and displays features almost every type of gear you can imagine — backpacks, tents, sleeping bags, fishing poles, climbing equipment, footwear, apparel, knives, tools, watches, water purifiers, and much more. There's even an entire section full of backpacking food and beverages to munch on. We prefer to hit that area around lunchtime. Many of the products at the Outdoor Retailer show aren't even available to the public yet, and are unveiled to the media for the first time on the show floor.
The industry-only nature of this show means it's not open to the general public — but that's what we're here for. Whether you're interested in purchasing some more gear for your next adventure, or you just enjoy keeping an eye on the newest and coolest items the industry has to offer, check out our photo gallery below.
