Every industry has one ultimate annual event that sets the tone for the rest of the year — the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) for technology, the SEMA Show for car and truck parts, Outdoor Retailer for hiking and backpacking gear, and so on. At these events, companies pull out all the stops and show off all their most important new products. When it comes to the firearm industry, there's one exclusive trade show that tops the list of priorities: SHOT, also known as the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade show.

SHOT Show holds the title of the world's largest annual firearm trade show, with about 65,000 attendees filling the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas. The 2018 show starts tomorrow (Tuesday, January 23rd) and continues through Friday, January 26th. Now, we have some bad news and some good news. The bad news is that the show is not open to the public — to get in, you'll need to prove that you're a business owner, sales rep, buyer, or other member of the firearm industry. However, the good news is that members of the media are also allowed to attend — that's us.

We'll be at SHOT Show 2018 all week along with the RECOIL crew, snapping photos and shooting video clips of everything notable we see at the Media Day at the Range today, and on the show floor starting tomorrow. We'll also be meeting with reps from some of your favorite companies to discuss the details of new products and upcoming gear. These photos, videos, and product announcements will be shared right here each day.
