We're looking forward to the start of the next season of ALONE on Thursday, June 14th at 10/9C. In case you're not already familiar with it, this History reality TV series takes ten contestants to a remote area and challenges them to survive on their own for as long as possible. Contestants have just 10 survival tools of their own choosing to work with, and must improvise the rest while filming themselves throughout the harrowing experience. The last remaining contestant takes home a $500,000 prize.

In the previous seasons of ALONE, contestants have pushed on for nearly three months to claim the prize. Along the way, many have dropped out of the competition, either due to being unwilling to continue or due to forced medical evacuation. Some of these contestants threw in the towel quickly, while others soldiered on in anguish until their bodies could take it no more.

ALONE Season 5 provides an opportunity for redemption for 10 returning contestants from previous seasons. The location is no longer Northern Vancouver Island as it was in three of the last four seasons — this time, the challenge takes place in Mongolia. A statement on History.com reads, “Each individual must create their own shelters, catch food from the land, overcome the harsh foreign terrain and bitter cold, and contend with a host of deadly predators. They will truly be on their own. No camera crew. No gimmicks. Last one standing wins.”

Below, we'll list the ten contestants from ALONE Season 5. Click each name to read a full bio and watch a video about the ten survival items that individual chose.

Now, here's a bonus question: how long do you predict the winners will survive on the island? Previous seasons lasted between 56 and 87 days, but the new location in Mongolia could dramatically effect the difficulty of long-term survival.
