Description
Maglite is one of the pioneers of this category; the company produced its first D-cell flashlight in 1979. The ML300LX still resembles that original design, but with a modern LED and digital internals. The user can configure this light with one of four function sets: general, outdoor, law enforcement, and tactical. Each set has three modes accessible by a single-, double-, or triple-click of the button. Once set up, this is a very helpful feature, and it makes the light easy to use. While the ML300LX offers adjustable focus, there’s not much range to this adjustment, so the feature is only marginally useful. This Maglite was also the only flashlight in our guide that didn’t include batteries, but we do appreciate its light weight, low price, and simplicity.
Pros: Activity-based function sets allow user to change mode priority, Available in black, gray, or green matte finishes, Good value
Cons: Doesn’t include batteries
