This light produces 750 lumens and runs on two CR123 batteries. Don't confuse it with the ProTac HL USB, which we reviewed in Issue 7. Despite the similar name, it's a substantially different design. This ProTac HL is simple and effective, with three modes, a rugged and grippy exterior, and Streamlight's signature Ten-Tap tail switch. The $135 price tag might raise some eyebrows, but we found it for nearly half that price at several retailers. The ProTac HL is a very respectable choice.

Pros: Solid and purposeful design, Has the features it needs and none it doesn't

Cons: Waterproof rating slightly weaker than other lights we tested, You'll have to find a bargain online.
