Awarded “Best Bug-Out Option”

Two brothers from Italy joined forces to form Wander Tactical. The duo has focused on making outdoor-oriented fixed blades with aggressive styling and extreme durability; the Hurricane is the company's first folding knife design. Its 3/16-inch-thick D2 steel blade is paired with a vertical sliding lock-bar and anodized aluminum handle scales; designed, made, and assembled in Italy. Our sample is finished in matte black and olive green, but other colors and handle materials are available. Each Hurricane folder includes a lock pin, which can be threaded through the handle to make this a temporary fixed blade.

Pros:
– It locks open with a confidence-inspiring kachunk and feels bombproof, especially with the metal reinforcement pin installed.
– The large flipper tab turns into a prominent finger guard, yielding a secure grip.

Cons:
– The sliding lock-bar is extremely stiff. Repeated opening and closing eased this somewhat, but it's tricky to snap the knife shut one-handed.
– It's thick, heavy, and the pocket clip grips like a vice. While beneficial in the backwoods, these qualities cause it to feel ungainly in urban settings.
