Description
The side-mounted magnet on this light ships with a warning label and protective cover — probably for the best given the claimed 135-pound pull strength. There’s also a retractable hang hook for dangling the light from overhead objects (other models offer a belt clip instead of the hook). When paired with the rotating and articulating head, this is a recipe for a very adaptable light. The Knucklehead produces a wide-angle square-shaped beam, and works well for lighting a workbench or cooking prep area. We also liked the dual-battery functionality, with a rechargeable NiCad pack for daily use and AA compatibility as a fallback option. Unfortunately, the Knucklehead is nearly 1.5 pounds and quite bulky compared to the other lights in this guide, so we’d recommend keeping this one in your home, garage, or vehicle.
Pros:
– Strong magnet and hang hook for quick mounting
– Rotating, articulating head adjusts easily
Cons:
– Heavy and bulky
– Not as bright as we’d like from a light this size
