These are lightweight duty/combat-style boots with a side zipper that makes it easy to gear up. Moreover, the laces thread through a toggle and are easy to cinch up and tuck into a pocket on the tongue. Compared to typical high-cut boots, they're a joy to put on and take off. And they're quite comfortable with generous padding. If you don't need waterproof boots, these are a good choice.
