At the business end of this light, there's a CREE XM-L2 / U3 LED mounted behind a polymethyl methacrylate total internal reflection lens. That may sound like gibberish, but it translates to a soft, even, and surprisingly bright beam that's nothing short of outstanding. The S2 Baton is compatible with either a single 18650 or a pair of CR123 batteries, though the CRs will rattle slightly unless you insert them inside the included plastic battery carrier. This light is just the right size for everyday carry (EDC), and its deep two-way pocket clip keeps it unobtrusive. The strong magnet in the S2's tail cap makes hands-free use a breeze. Our only grievance is the small low-profile power switch — it's hard to find by touch alone and sometimes leads to fumbling with the light to feel out its position. Clocking the pocket clip alongside the switch helps the situation; it's a minor annoyance on an otherwise great flashlight.

Pros:
– Powerful, crystal-clear beam
– Dual-battery compatibility
– Ideal size for EDC

Cons:
– Power switch is small and lacks texture.
– Batteries not included
