Built for extreme cold, the Cold Forge's hybrid Insulation maintains the packability of goose down, but will insulate even when wet due to the PrimaLoft fibers. The face fabric is a tough Pertex Microlight ripstop, ensuring that you won't bleed feathers. If you're not an athletic build, you may want to size up, as the waistline is very tight.

Performance:
This jacket is warm. We couldn't wear it on its own above 30 degrees without overheating. For static activities like a winter belay (or even just walking around town), the Cold Forge is the ultimate answer to harsh weather. We were pleasantly surprised by the water repellency of the Microlight face fabric. During a few early morning missions to catch sunrise on the trail, this was choice as a mobile backcountry bombshelter.

Pros:
– Warm
– This puffy is the absolute best in terms of cold weather performance.

Cons:
– Waist feels a size too small.
– The cuff material tended to pill.
