Ernest Emerson christened his first new model for 2017 the Aftershock based on his experience in earthquake-prone Southern California — “You know it's coming and there's nothing you can do to stop it.” This knife features a Bowie-style 154CM blade with a single-sided edge, which will be available in either stonewashed or black finish. The titanium liner-lock is flanked by finely-textured, grippy G-10 handle scales. As with other Emerson designs, it includes the signature Wave-shaped opening feature for quick deployment and is made in the USA.

Pros:
– Emerson's wave-shaped opening feature is loved by many, making it possible to draw and open the knife in a single lightning-quick motion.
– Smooth opening and secure lockup, whether you're using the thumb disk or the wave-shaped opener.

Cons:
– We hope you like distressed jeans, because these handle scales shred pocket hems like a rasp crossed with a belt sander.
– Left-hand carry option costs $25 extra.
