The unique trait of the Koolatron is that it needs no ice. Just plug it in to the car and, according to the manufacturer, it'll keep food at least 40 degrees below the ambient temperature or keep food warm up to 130 degrees. The divider can become a shelf with the unit set on its side in “refrigerator” mode. The dual opening top means you won't disturb the cooling element, but the downside is that there might not be any outlets where you're headed.

The handle was warped right out of the box and will likely break very soon. The latch was difficult to slide open and closed. There are no lashing points, and the handles are too shallow to grip well.
